Republic Day

            Republic Day is celebrated every year on 26th January in India. It is an important national festival because on this day in 1950, the Constitution of India came into effect, and our country became a republic.

            The main celebration takes place in New Delhi at Rajpath, where the President of India hoists the national flag and takes the salute of the grand parade. The parade shows the strength of our army, navy, and air force. Colourful tableaux from different states display India’s culture and traditions. School children also perform dances and patriotic songs.

            In schools and colleges, Republic Day is celebrated with flag hoisting, speeches, and cultural programs. People feel proud and patriotic on this day.

            Republic Day reminds us of the values of our Constitution, such as equality, justice, and freedom. We should respect these values and be responsible citizens of our nation.

            It is a day to celebrate our unity, diversity, and democratic spirit.
