          If any language is to be learned scientifically, the grammar of that language is the most important. Part of speech is a very important element in learning grammar. There are eight type parts of speech in the English language.

1] Noun [ नाम ] :- 

कोणत्याही सजीव अथवा निर्जीव, दिसणाऱ्या किवा न दिसणाऱ्या, खऱ्या किंवा काल्पनिक व्यक्ती, ठिकाण, प्राणी, विचार आणि कल्पना किंवा त्यांच्या गुणधर्माला दिलेल्या नावाला नाम असे म्हणतात.
 The name given to real or imaginary persons, places, animals, thoughts and ideas or their attributes is called noun.
 A noun is a word for a person, place, thing, or idea.
For example :-
India, Aurangabad, Ganga, book, pen, dog, paper, water, salt, bravery, kindness, truth, Mumbai, city, team, sugar, honesty, girl, house, school, fruit, flower, cow, horse, table etc.

  • Let me give you some advice.
  • My name is Suyash.
  • The weary army marched on.
  • It takes a village to raise a child.
  • That's his favorite book.
  • How many students attend in class.

2] Pronoun [ सर्वनाम ] :- 

 नामाचा पुनर्वापर टाळण्यासाठी नामा ऐवजी वापरल्या जाणार्या विकारी शब्दाला सर्वनाम असे म्हणतात. 
 A pronoun is a word used in place of a noun.
For example :- 
I, We, You, He, She, It, They, Who, What, yourself, us, our, her, his, their, that, neither etc.
  • She is a doctor. 
  • Manoj laughed at you and me.
  • This bag is mine.
  • Ours is a great country.
  • The man, who is honest, is trusted.


3] Adjective [ विशेषण ] :- 

 नामाबद्दल अधिक माहिती सांगून नामाची व्याप्ती मर्यादित करणाऱ्या शब्दाला विशेषण असे म्हणतात. 
 An adjective is a word that limits the scope of a noun by giving more information about the noun.
 An adjective is a word used to modify or describe a noun or a pronoun.
For example :- 
good, white, edge, twenty, some, little, more, small, many, first, fourth, eighth, double, triple, strong rich true free poor lazy proud dirty e polite selfish etc.
  • Lata is a clever student.
  • He got the first prize. 
  • I have very little time to play.
  • She is a beautiful girl.
  • I have many friends.

4] Verb [ क्रियापद ] :- 

 वाक्यात क्रियादर्शविणाऱ्या व वाक्याचा अर्थ पूर्ण करणाऱ्या क्रियावाचक शब्दाला क्रियापद असे म्हणतात. 
 The verb in a sentence expresses action or being.
For example :- 
read, write, see, cry, laugh, observe, break, open, eat, give, take, run, destroy, decide, arrived, mix, think,  choose, deliver, succeed, Discover etc
  • He drives a car.
  • May I come in, sir?
  • He needed not talk loudly.
  • Will you close the door?
  • She watched the movie.


5] Adverb [ क्रियाविशेषण अव्यय ] :- 

 क्रियापदाबद्दल (क्रियेविषयी) विशेष माहिती देणाऱ्या शब्दाला क्रियाविशेषण अव्यय असे म्हणतात. 
 An adverb describes or modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb, but never a noun.
For example :- 
now, then, before, tomorrow, daily, here, near, sometimes, always, beautifully, faithfully, almost, rather, some, hence, therefore, yes, not at all etc.
  • I am very pleased to see you.
  • He was working fast while the others were quite slow.
  • The Minister spoke frankly about the problem that the state faced.
  • Komal speaks English well. 
  • My father returned late.

6] Preposition [ शब्दयोगी अव्यय ] :- 

 शब्दांनाजोडून येणाऱ्या व स्वतंत्र अस्तित्व नसलेल्या शब्दांना (अव्यय) शब्दयोगी अव्यय म्हणतात. 
 A preposition is a word placed before a noun or pronoun to form a phrase modifying another word in the sentence.
For example :- 
At, with, for, over, down, in, among, across, of, into, upon, without, beyond, over, below, between, behind, outside etc.
  • She is proud of her beauty.
  • Sit in your place.
  • My friend was addicted to drinking.
  • The bridge was over the river.
  • Cut this apple into four pieces.

7] Conjunction [ उभयान्वयी अव्यय ] :- 

 दोन किंवा अधिक शब्द अथवा दोन किंवा अधिक वाक्य जोडणारा व त्यांच्यात वियोग घडवून आणणारा किंवा याप्रकारची कामे करणाऱ्या शब्दाला उभयान्वयी अव्यय असे म्हणतात. 
 A conjunction joins words, phrases, or clauses, and indicates the relationship between the elements joined.
For example :- 
For, and - and, as well as, hence,  else, to, where, who, which, besides, but, or, so, because, and, both, etc.
  • She is a beautiful and clever.
  • She is not only beautiful but also clever.
  • He is very intelligent but he is poor.
  • I didn’t come, for I was unwell.
  • Ram is educated as well as his parents are educated.
  • Either you go or let me go.


8] Interjection [ केवलप्रयोगी अव्यय ] :- 

 मनातील भावना किंवा भावस्थिती यांचा उत्स्फूर्त उदगार दर्शविण्यासाठी जे शब्द वापरले जातात, अशा अविकारी शब्दांना केवल प्रयोगी किंवा उद्गार वाचक अव्यये असे म्हणतात.
 Words that are used to express spontaneous exclamation of feelings or emotions are called exclamation points.
 An interjection is a word used to express emotion.
For example :-
Alas, Hurra, Oh, Ouch, Bravo etc.
  • Alas !  He died so young.
  • Bravo ! At last you have done it.
  • Aha I have a brilliant idea
