Holi Festival

Holi is one of the most colourful and joyful festivals in India. It is also called the “Festival of Colours.” It is usually celebrated in the month of March. Holi marks the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil.

The festival begins with Holika Dahan on the night before Holi. People gather around a bonfire, sing songs, and pray for happiness and prosperity. The next day is called Rangwali Holi. On this day, people play with colours, water balloons, and water guns. Friends and family smear each other with gulal (coloured powder) and spray coloured water.

Special sweets like gujiya, malpua, and thandai are prepared during Holi. People visit relatives and friends to greet them and share festive food.

Holi is not only about colours but also about love, unity, and togetherness. It removes differences and brings people closer. We should enjoy Holi safely by using natural colours and avoiding wastage of water.

Holi is a festival that spreads joy and makes life brighter and more colourful.
